Personal and professional support for navigating change
1:1 MENTORING & COGNITIVE BRIEF THERAPY
We provide tailored support for individuals and professionals — a confidential space to reflect, reset, and gain clarity while navigating challenges in personal life and work.
Cognitive Brief Therapy
Structured, goal-oriented, and time-limited (typically 5–20 sessions). Focuses on strengthening resilience, handling stress, exploring identity, improving relationships, and managing life transitions. The approach combines cognitive methods with experiential practices, including mindfulness, compassion-focused techniques, and metacognitive exercises.
Mentoring & Professional Guidance
Flexible, consultation-style support for shorter engagements. Offers practical guidance and reflection for personal and professional development, including navigating DEIB-related challenges in the workplace.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll work with Aaro Horsma (he/they), a cognitive brief therapist and wellbeing practitioner with extensive experience in one-to-one support. Their background in equality and social change informs a grounded, relational, and practical approach.
Aaro is passionate about wellbeing, equality, and the intersections of these experiences. Their work spans themes of loneliness and exclusion, community, and justice — from individual support to strengthening communities and promoting social impact. With nearly 20 years of experience in social and health services and human rights work, Aaro has provided both personal support and guidance for peer-based initiatives.
“Being able to hear and be present in people’s life experiences has always felt like a privilege. One of the most memorable pieces of feedback came from military service, where Aaro served as a social advisor and was described as a ‘maternal corporal’ — a phrase that reflects their commitment to being present, safe, encouraging, and reliable.”
Working style
In sessions, Aaro aims to create a courageous and attentive space where your voice and experience guide the conversation. Together, you explore your life situation, clarify goals, and discover ways to strengthen your resources. Even small insights into how we relate to ourselves and others can open the path to meaningful change. The work is grounded in openness, trust, and genuine dialogue. Cognitive brief therapy methods are applied flexibly to meet your needs. The therapy always focuses on your story, needs, and feelings, supporting a life imbued with courage, purpose, and personal meaning.
“Learning from the experiences of others and having diverse expertise not only makes it easier to understand the world, but also possible to impact it. It teaches us about people around us and about ourselves. And we can change and value most the things that we can understand.” — Aaro
