ABOUT
Working at the intersection of equality, connection, and social change.
EQUALITY INC.
Meaningful change grows through shared understanding and collaboration.
Equality Inc. creates space for understanding, connection, and action — from individual experiences to communities, organisations, and society.
Founded in 2022, Equality Inc. emerged from a simple but demanding insight: lasting change does not grow from surface-level actions or symbolic commitments. It grows through lived experience, accountability, collaboration, and the ways people relate to themselves and each other in everyday life.
Equality Inc. brings together people, experience, and expertise across one-to-one support, trainings, consultancy, and collaborative projects.
AARO HORSMA, founder

Aaro Horsma (he/they) works at the intersection of individual support, community development, and structural change. Their work combines counselling, training, consulting, and community-informed approaches grounded in wellbeing, equality, and belonging.
Aaro’s background spans cognitive brief therapy (CBT), social and health services, community work, sex education, journalism, and organisational development. This multidisciplinary foundation connects emotional and relational experience with practical and societal change-making.
Over the past decade, Aaro worked in leadership and development roles within Helsinki Pride Community, building inclusive services, partnerships, advocacy work, and community-based support structures together with NGOs, municipalities, public institutions, and private sector organisations.
Alongside organisational and societal work, Aaro has continuously worked one-to-one with people navigating identity, relationships, loneliness, trauma, life transitions, and questions of meaning and belonging. This ongoing individual work keeps broader organisational and societal perspectives grounded in lived human experience.
Driven by people and their stories, Aaro’s work focuses on strengthening understanding, connection, and meaningful change across individuals, communities, and society.
“We can change — and value the most — what we are able to truly understand.”
